The electrode (1) has a truncated cone section (2) and a cylinder surface section (3) that are provided as electrochemical machining (ECM)-active sections with different geometrical forms. The truncated cone section exhibits an outer geometry that is narrow to a front side of the electrode. The cylinder surface section is adjacent to the truncated cone section, and exhibits an outer shell geometry that is constant along a longitudinal extension of the cylinder surface section. The two sections exhibit a profile cross section that is designed in a thin-walled and/or one-piece manner.
