A cap type secondary battery is provided to operate a positive temperature coefficient device between a bare cell and a protection circuit board favorably at designed temperature and save the time and cost for a battery manufacture process by reducing unnecessary parts. A can type secondary battery includes: a bare cell comprising an electrode assembly, a can for accommodating the electrode assembly, and a cap assembly to be united with the opened top of the can; a protection circuit board(300) on which protection circuits are formed; and a positive temperature coefficient device(170') comprising a first conductive part(172') which is directly joined to the protection circuit board, a second conductive part(176') which is combined with one part of the cap assembly electrically connected with one electrode of the electrode assembly, and a positive temperature coefficient main body(174') which is placed between the first conductive part and the second conductive part. |
