<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of a vertical alignment mode to which antiglare properties are imparted without heightening a haze value and which has satisfactory visual field angle characteristics and to provide an antiglare polarization film layered body useful for the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device, a pair of linear polarizers 20 and 21 are disposed on both surfaces of a liquid crystal cell 10 of a vertical alignment mode, a first retardation plate 26 having a refractive index structure of n<SB>x</SB>>n<SB>y</SB>≥n<SB>z</SB>is disposed between one cell substrate and the linear polarizer so that the lagging axis of the first retardation plate is parallel or orthogonal to the transmission axis of the adjacent linear polarizer; a second retardation plate 27 having a refractive index structure of n<SB>x</SB>≈n<SB>y</SB>>n<SB>z</SB>is disposed between the first retardation plate 26 and the one cell substrate or between the other cell substrate and the linear polarizer, and an antiglare layer 30 which has ≤5% haze value and ≤50% sum total reflection clearness measured by using three optical combs having 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm and 2.0 mm comb widths respectively and wherein a reflection profile to 30° incident light satisfies a specific relationship and polygons formed by performing Voronoi division using a vertex of a projecting part as a mother point have 50 to 1,500 μm<SP>2</SP>average area is disposed on the surface of the display surface side polarizer 20. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
