<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device for improving a heat reserving-heat insulating characteristic of a purifying member, in the exhaust gas treatment device having the purifying member such as a catalyst and a diesel particulate filter for purifying the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust gas treatment device 1 has the purifying member 11 for purifying the exhaust gas exhausted from the internal combustion engine and a casing member 12 storing the purifying member 11 inside and connected to an exhaust passage 2 of the internal combustion engine.
