PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a preferable braking device for immediately stopping a fan in power source interruption has not been obtained in a conventional motor-driven rotary body. SOLUTION: This braking device for a motor-driven rotary body has a driving circuit of the motor-driven rotary body consisting of a driving signal generating circuit unit of the motor-driven rotary body, an output stage having upper and lower stage side MOSFETs, and a motor unit to be driven by this output stage. The driving circuit has a power source voltage monitoring circuit for detecting power source interruption, and a diode provided between a gate of the lower stage MOSFET and the control power source voltage. In this circuit, when the power source voltage of the motor-driven rotary body is interrupted, the upper stage MOSFET is turned OFF based on a control signal from the power source voltage monitoring circuit, and the lower stage MOSFET is turned ON to short-circuit the motor unit, thereby generating electromagnetic braking.
