PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a uniform liquid crystal lens allowed to be easily manufactured and further reducing irregular gaps in a cell. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal lens functioned as a variable focus lens by arranging a liquid crystal layer between a gap formed by sticking two transparent substrates to each other through a seal, the seal is constituted of arranging a frame-like first seal formed on the outer edge of the transparent substrate and a second seal formed on the inside of the first seal and the outside of a lens area for modulating the phase of the liquid crystal layer, and mixing spacer.
