PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve both of reduction in a rising time and energy saving in a belt fixing device and to obtain an image of high quality. SOLUTION: The fixing device has a fixing belt 52 engaged as stretched over at least a fixing member 54 and a belt support member 53, wherein an auxiliary heat source 61 to heat the fixing belt 52 is disposed in a downstream side of the belt support member 53 and in an upstream side of a nip in the rotation direction of the fixing belt 52. The surface of the fixing belt 52, a sheet P and an unfixed toner on the sheet P are warmed by heat given by the auxiliary heat source 61 to efficiently fix an unfixed image.
