摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new particulate having a molecular-leveled water soluble polymer added to the surface thereof, to allow the particulate to exhibit satisfactory adhesiveness to a substrate as a liquid crystal cell spacer and to stably suppress also light leakage and the like on the periphery of the spacer. SOLUTION: The particulate includes a spherical particulate body and the polymer stuck to the surface of the spherical particulate body, wherein the spherical particulate body is formed of a polymerization product of a monomer having an ethylenically unsaturated group and has 1 to 20μm average particle diameter, and the polymer exists at a molecular level in thickness by adhesion of the water soluble polymer to the spherical particulate body. The particulate exhibits excellent adhesiveness as a liquid crystal adhesion spacer and can be expected as a spacer for a liquid crystal display element. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
