PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely and cleanly removes foreign matters such as marine living things which adhere to the interior of a water intake thermometer protection pipe. SOLUTION: The water intake thermometer protection pipe cleaning device is provided with a cylindrical cleaning device body 10 and a driver 20. The cylindrical cleaning device body 10 has an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the thermometer protection pipe 30, and has an inner diameter larger than the outer diameter of the float 41 of the thermometer 40. The driver 20 is used for moving the cleaning device body 10 up and down. It is desirable that the cylindrical inner surface of the cleaning device body 10 has a taper surface 11 the diameter of which is contracted from the lower open end to the upper position.
