AN AL-MG ALLOY WIRE

An Al-Mg alloy wire, is composed of (in wt%): Mn 0.01-0.30%, Ti 0.05-0.35%, Cr 0.03-0.42%, Mg 2-8% and balanced Al, in which Mn could increase strength and refine molten Al, Ti could increase flexibility, inhibit oxidation and refine molten Al, Cr and Mg could increase finish and strength. The Al-Mg alloy wire would not be oxidized easily as conventional Al-Mg alloy wire, has an increased strength (the strength of hard wire is about 400MPa), would not curl, would not be scratched and has excellent finish with low cost. The wire could be used in the braided wire of coaxial cables and pressure pipes and the welding wire for Al materials.
