The arrangement has a wide V-belt (6) with two traction mechanism carriers (8, 10) and multiple support units (14), where each supporting unit is provided with a slot at its side flanks (16a, 16b) for receiving the traction mechanism carriers. The traction mechanism carriers have outer side flanks (8a, 10b) that project over the respective side flanks (16a, 16b) of the support units about a projecting length in such a manner that a contact takes place about the outer side flanks (8a, 10b) with engagement of the wide V-belt/belt pulleys (4).
