The system has a lock (2) activatable from a closed position to an opened position by an electronic circuit (4) over an electrically controllable final control unit (14). The electronic circuit comprises a lock processor (7) with a lock memory element (9), in which an opening code and a locking code are stored. The lock is activatable in the opening position by the lock processor by comparison of a given code with a stored opening code, where the lock is locked against an opening with the opening code by the lock processor if the given code matches with the stored opening code. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a lock system.
