<p>Disclosed is a cold-cathode fluorescent lamp comprising a glass bulb (16), a protection film (22) formed on the inner surface of the glass bulb, and a phosphor layer (24) arranged on the protection film and containing blue phosphor particles (26B), green phosphor particles (26) and red phosphor particles (26). The glass bulb is composed of soda glass, and each blue phosphor particle is covered with a metal oxide (30). The protection film is composed of silica (SiO<SUB>2</SUB>). Since the fluorescent lamp is provided with the protection film and the blue phosphor particles, which tend to deteriorate, are covered with the metal oxide, the fluorescent lamp can obtain a good luminance maintenance ratio. In addition, since the protection film is made of silica, this fluorescent lamp can attain an initial luminance equivalent to those of fluorescent lamps whose glass bulbs are made of borosilicate glass, although the glass bulb of this fluorescent lamp is composed of soda glass.</p> |
