METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRINTING ON PLATE-LIKE OBJECTS

The method involves subjecting a section (4) e.g. upper surface, of plate-like work piece (2) to be printed to pre-treatment steps, which are selected from preliminary purification, scouring, improving adhesion and wetting characteristics and reducing electrostatic charging. The pretreated section to be printed is printed with a desired pattern by ink jet printing. The pretreatment steps are selected depending on material and/or properties of the section to be printed. An independent claim is also included for a device for printing on a plate-like work piece.
