<p>The present invention is directed to a method for global motion estimation of at least a first and a second image frame, wherein at least a portion of pixels of said at least first and second image frame are respectively correlated by at least one motion vector (29), comprising a histogram step (10) for forming a histogram on the basis of said at least one motion vector, a filtering step (11) for filtering said at least one motion vector on the basis of said histogram, and a distribution step (14) for distributing the at least one filtered motion vector over at least a portion of said at least second image frame.
