A foundation arrangement comprises a channel structure <B>10</B> which spans between pile formations for support. Settable material is received in the channel structure <B>10</B> to form a beam when set. The channel structure <B>10</B> has at least one through aperture which remains open for ventilation through the channel structure. An aperture <B>54</B> may be formed in the settable material when it is introduced to provide ventilation through the aperture in the channel structure <B>10.</B> The aperture <B>54</B> may be formed by a plug which is removed after the settable material has set. The channel structure may comprise two portions, a first having the aperture formed therein and a second providing a channel for the settable material. A shutter may be provided and at least some of the settable material introduced against the shutter. |
