A milling cutter comprises blocks 34 of predetermined length for abutting a seat 30 on the cutter body and a straight edge of an insert 44 to set the insert in position. The blocks 34 are secured by differential screws 40. The inserts are clamped by wedges 52 and screws 64..Three different sizes of blocks are available. In a modified cutter, the blades 66, Fig. 5 (not shown), have a positive rake. The blocks can be rotated or reversed if damaged. |
