A vent pin 1 and plug 2 assembly for venting air from a central heating radiator comprises a threaded retaining end portion 5 with a section 4 cut away so that air is released from the radiator when the pin 1 is unscrewed and functions as a stop to retain the pin 1 in the plug 2. Pin 1 may comprise of second threaded portion that may be of the same or larger (figs 6- 10) diameter than the threaded retaining portion 5 and has a slot or flat 6 cut in the pin 1 to permit the release of air, and a reduced diameter portion 3 that is below the thread core diameter. Cut-away 4 permits maximum expulsion of air when the pin 1 is unscrewed and the stop 5 abuts the plug 2 (fig 2). Pin 1 may seal with the plug 2 by a conical taper and/or an o-ring. A slot 7 may be provided on the end of the pin 1 to permit turning via a screwdriver. Plug 2 may have an external thread and a socket to permit the plug 2 to be screwed into the radiator. |
