A container closure 1 comprises an inner wall 2 and an outer wall 4, the inner wall being tapered and closed at one end and the outer wall having an annular projection 9 adapted to engage an edge 8 of the inner wall. A stud 11, which assists in centralizing a tool for pushing the closure into the container opening 13, also strengthens the top of the closure. A shoulder 10 snaps under a flange 14 defining the opening 13 to secure the closure, the outer wall 4 of which is wedged into the opening by the tapered inner wall 2.
