<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner in which cooling efficiency or heating efficiency can be enhanced while enhancing the comfortableness and the safety of heath. SOLUTION: Indoor air is taken in from an air inlet 4 made in the upper surface of an indoor unit 1 and subjected to heat exchange through an indoor heat exchanger 3 before being supplied into a room from the first opening part 5a of an air outlet 5. At a specified timing, lateral louvers 11a and 11b turn to close the first opening part 5a and rotary plates 14 and 15 rotate to open the second opening 5b. Consequently, conditioned air flowing through an air duct 6 is delivered from the second opening 5b through a branch passage 13 and then guided upward. Cool air or hot air is thereby prevented from being supplied constantly to a user and short circuit can be prevented because a front panel 3 is not provided with an air inlet.</p> |
