A method and a device for controlling dehydration of a drum type washing machine is provided to keep the dehydration process when a vibration sensor is in error and to reduce vibration and noise of the drum by determining dehydration RPM based on measured vibration of the drum. A method for controlling dehydration of a drum type washing machine comprises the steps of checking a sensor measuring vibration of the drum by using offset voltage of the sensor(S10), checking amplitude of vibration of the drum by rotating the drum when the sensor is normally operated(S13), and determining maximum dehydration RPM of the drum on the basis of measured amplitude of the vibration of the drum(S18,S20). |
