A transflective liquid crystal display device is provided to transmit an incident light to a color filter resin layer through the same path in reflective and transmissive areas by forming a color filter resin layer on both of an upper substrate and a lower substrate. An upper substrate(110) includes an upper glass substrate(111), a black matrix(114), an upper color filter resin layer(112), and a common electrode(113). The upper color filter resin layer is formed on the upper glass substrate and divided into red, green, blue resin layers on a sub pixel basis by the black matrix. The common electrode is formed on the upper color filter resin layer. A lower substrate(120) faces the upper substrate and is separated therefrom. A lower color filter resin layer(122) is formed on a lower glass substrate(121) so as to correspond to the upper color filter resin layer and is divided into a reflective area and a transmissive area. The lower color filter resin layer of the reflective area includes a main resin layer having the same color as the upper color filter resin layer and an auxiliary resin layer having a different color from the main resin layer. The lower color filter resin layer of transmissive area includes only a main resin layer having the same color as the upper color filter resin layer. A reflective plate is disposed on the auxiliary resin layer of the transmissive area. A transparent electrode(124) is disposed on the main resin layer of the transmissive area. A liquid crystal layer(130) is interposed between the upper and lower substrates. |
