A hard disk drive and a method for controlling internal temperature of the hard disk drive are provided to raise the internal temperature of the hard disk drive suitable to read and write the information rapidly, and to improve reliability of the hard disk drive by performing a random seek operation and a heater operation simultaneously. A voltage corresponding to internal temperature of a hard disk drive is generated through a thermistor(S210). A comparison signal is output by comparing the voltage generated in the thermistor with a predetermined reference voltage through a comparator(S220). A controller determines the random seek operation on the basis of the comparison signal and outputs a control signal corresponding to the determination(S230). An actuator carries out the random seek operation based on the control signal(S240). The operation of the heater is controlled on the basis of the comparison signal(S260).
