APPARATUS FOR DRIVING PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL

An apparatus for driving a plasma display panel is provided to extend lifespan of components of a scan IC(Integrated Circuit) by preventing a short-circuit of a parasitic capacitor by equalizing both end voltages of a scan up switch. An apparatus for driving a plasma display panel includes a reset driver(40) and a scan IC(Integrated Circuit)(50). The reset driver outputs a set up signal which is gradually increased during first and second intervals. The scan IC includes scan up and down switches(Q1,Q2) for supplying the set up signal, receives the set up signal as an input and applies the set up signal to at least one of plural electrodes. The scan up and down switches are floated between the first and second intervals.
