A mobile terminal having a scrolling function and a scrolling method are provided to offer a natural screen and execute speedy scrolling to a desired screen area by variably controlling scrolling speed within a scrolling interval so that a screen shift operation based on scrolling can be consecutively executed. If a scrolling start signal is inputted through a user input part(9), a control part(5) gradually increases scrolling speed and scrolls screens. If a scrolling stop signal is inputted while the control part is scrolling screens, the control part calculates the final point of a scrolling interval, gradually decreases scrolling speed, and stops screen scrolling at the final point. |
