A device for a camera module and the camera module by using the same are provided to allow a maker of an electronic appliance using a camera module to design the camera module according to the model of the electronic appliance. A device for a camera module includes a hard printed circuit board(130), a camera housing(110), and a lens holder(120). The hard printed circuit board has one exposed side surface to provide a connection pad, thereby providing a standard interface function with a main board. The hard printed circuit board has a central portion having an exposure hole so that an image sensor is attached to the outer side of the exposure hole. The camera housing is bonded to the hard printed circuit board. The camera housing has a square barrel sealing an internal space in which the image sensor is installed such that an external light is incident only through a protrusion. The lens holder is coupled to the protrusion of the camera housing to provide an optical path for the image sensor.
