A lens grinding apparatus with a chamfering mechanism is provided to improve the processing efficiency and to reduce the manufacturing costs by installing a lens holder rotating a grinding machine spindle around a center axial line without installing a rotary shaft. A lens grinding apparatus comprises a grinding machine(4), a grinding machine spindle, a centripetal rotary body, a rotating mechanism, a grinding rotating mechanism, a lens holder, a work conveying mechanism, a work rotating mechanism, and a chamfering mechanism(60). The grinding machine has a circular grinding surface. The grinding machine spindle is placed in the condition where the center axial line passes the center of the grinding surface to support the grinding machine. The lens holder rotates the grinding machine spindle around the center axial line. The chamfering mechanisms are composed of a chamfering tool(61), a tool conveying mechanism, and a conveying mechanism for chamfering. The lens holder supported by the ground lens material is returned to be separated from the chamfering machine to place the chamfering tool between the lens material and the grinding machine.
