A soft water washing machine is provided to regenerate an ion exchange resin automatically and to extend regeneration time of the ion exchange resin by manufacturing salt water having regular concentration at a regeneration treating unit and transferring the salt water to a soft water treating unit. A soft water washing machine comprises a washing machine housing(100), a washing tub(110), a hard water supply pipe and a hard water supply valve(120,121), a soft water treating unit(200), a regeneration treating unit(300), and a drain valve and a drain pipe(152,150). The soft water treating unit has a lower strainer and an ion exchange resin(240). The ion exchange resin converts hard water supplied through the lower strainer into soft water. The regeneration treating unit regenerates the ion exchange resin using salt water having regular concentration. The ion exchange resin is charged into the soft water treating unit. The regeneration treating unit is formed at an outer upper part of the washing machine.
