A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to enhance brightness in the sustain discharge by extending an interval between scan and sustain electrodes of the plasma display panel. A unit frame for representing gray level includes plural subfields. Each of the subfields includes reset, address, and sustain periods(PR,PA,PS). During the reset period, a gradually rising voltage is applied to first electrodes(Y1-Yn), a gradually falling voltage is applied to second electrodes(X1-Xn) which are formed in parallel with the first electrodes, and then a constant voltage is applied to third electrodes(A1-Am) which are formed to cross with the first and second electrodes. A gradually falling voltage is applied to the first electrodes, a gradually rising voltage is applied to the second electrodes, and then a constant voltage is applied to the third electrodes.
