A media providing service method in a wireless communication network is provided to allow a user to search Web for various media data on the wireless communication network, arbitrarily select desired media data, and receive selected data. When a mobile terminal(10) requests an X-GK(Gate Keeper)(12) to perform setup for receiving media data, the setup is made between the mobile terminal(10) and the X-GK(12). When the X-GK(12) requests connection from an X-WPC(Webphone Client)(28) that retains media data, connection of a Web media site is made between the mobile terminal(10) and the X-WPC(28). When the mobile terminal(10) searches a Web media site and requests transmission of media data, the X-WPC(28) transmits the corresponding media data to the mobile terminal(10).
