METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ADJUSTING BANDWIDTH OF DEVICE

A method and an apparatus for adjusting the bandwidth of a device are provided to improve QoS(Quality of Service) of communication in a device connected in a P2P manner by flexibly adjusting the bandwidths of a default link and a reverse link to which the device is connected. A default link in which the first device operates as a host and the second device operates as a device is generated(200). A reverse link in which the second device operates as a host and the first device operates as a device is generated(210). The first device checks whether it can provide a service having sufficient QoS through the currently allocated bandwidth for an application operating as a host(220). When the first device determines that it cannot provide a service with sufficient QoS, the first device requests the second device to additionally allocate a bandwidth that is not in use to the first device(230). In response to the request, the second device allocates a certain bandwidth to the first device(240). The first device reflects a DRP(Distributed Reservation Protocol) IE(Information Element) to which a changed DRP allocator is reflected to a beacon as it has been allocated the certain bandwidth, and broadcasts it(250). The first device performs WUSB(Wireless Universal Serial Bus) communication through the changed bandwidth(260).
