The branches extend from the junction zone while being close to each other so that the size of a space defined between the branches reduces when the branches are spaced away from the zone. Maintenance units (112, 160) maintain an element e.g. brake line, on the staple, where the units have attachments (168) cut in one of the branches and are straightened with respect to the attachments.
