The movement component is for a reciprocal scraper for the movement of sludge in settlement basins and similar objects at water purification plants. In cross-section it shows a movement surface, a downwarly facing surface and a substantially upwardly facing surface. It is provided with a forwardly inclined transport surface, which furnishes a wedge-shaped compartment between the movement component and the bottom of the basin in a forward direction. This provides a lifting force when the movement component moves forward in a fluid medium. The cross-section of the movement component evidences a concave transport surface. The cross-section of the movement component is triangular which consists of a forwardly inclined concave surface, an inclined top surface and a horizontal plain bottom surface. The movement component forms a wedge-shaped compartment beneath it in a forward direction so that when the component moves forward, a lifting force is created to reduce friction, thereby saving energy. |
