The probe (1) has a part inserted in a support (3) to traverse an opening provided in a wall of an exhaust line. Another part co-operates with a tightening unit (4) provided on the support, where the latter part is separated from the former part by a shoulder (2). The shoulder includes two support surfaces (22, 24) disposed on the support and on the tightening unit, respectively. The support surface (24) provides conical profile, and an end of the tightening unit cooperates with the shoulder. An independent claim is also included for a method of mounting the assembly on an exhaust line.
