A working machine of lifting magnet specifications, in which a lifting magnet device is efficiently excited and devices relating to an exciting system of the lifting magnet device are downsized and which enables energy saving and low noise work. The working machine has, in addition to the lifting magnet device (8), an engine (1) and a generator (5) that form a power source, an electricity storage device (20) for storing electric energy from the power source, and a generator motor (drive source for a body to be driven)(18) for driving an upper rotation body, the generator motor being capable of producing regenerated electric energy. The power source and the electricity storage device (20) are connected so as to be able to supply electric energy to the lifting magnet device (8). The generator motor (18) for driving an upper rotation body is connected so as to be able to supply its own regenerated electric energy to the electricity storage devoice (20) and is connected so as to be able to directly supply the regenerated electric energy to the lifting magnet device (8) without the electricity storage device (20) in between.
