A transmission screen (3A) is formed by a combination of optical sheets such as a Fresnel lens sheet (1) and a lenticular lens sheet (2). On at least one surface of the optical sheets (1, 2), a friction reducing agent (20) is applied with thickness not smaller than 0.3 nm and not greater than 10 nm. The friction reducing agent (20) may be applied by an application device (30) including a transfer roll (31), application liquid supply means (32), for supplying the friction reducing agent (20) to the transfer roll (31) scratch-off means (35) for adjusting the thickness of the application liquid (20) attached to the transfer roll (31). The transfer roll (31) has a surface roughness Ra (JIS B 0601-1982) in the range from 0.01 to 1 Vm. This prevents generation of stray light attributed to the friction reducing agent and degradation of an external view.
