The method involves dividing floor (1) into fields using a longitudinal profile (6). The longitudinal profile is fastened to or at the base using a threaded pin (4) at an adjustable height. The height of the profile is adjusted through rotation of the threaded pin. A mortar layer (11) of a thickness is applied on the profile in such a manner that it covers the entire profile. The profile is stabilized with a protective cover. An independent claim is also included for a device for application of a method for producing plastic-like mortar coating, free-flowing coating or buffing floor.
