The coupling for connecting the spherical end (4) of a braking effort booster control rod (4) to a brake pedal lever (13) in a motor vehicle, consists of a pusher (16) and locking member (17). The locking member comprises a metal plate (28) with a central aperture having flexible lugs that move apart when the spherical end is inserted and retract after it after it, a spacer and a truncated conical guide (26). The metal plate also has two projecting studs (20, 21) that pass through holes in the pusher for fixing to it, and the guide and spacer are over-moulded onto it. The coupling also incorporates a plastic cushion (19) with notches (24) for the studs.
