PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select an optimal execution server from among the whole extent of time to be spent on the execution of a batch job when selecting a server which is made to execute the batch job from among a plurality of execution servers. SOLUTION: A time to be spent on the execution of a batch job is predicted from batch job characteristics and the number of items of input data, and the load circumstances of each execution server are predicted as the whole extent of the time, and an execution server which is made to execute the batch job is selected based on the prediction. Also, each time the batch job is executed, a load generated due to the execution of the batch job is measured, and the batch job characteristics are updated based on the measurement value, so that the accuracy of the batch job characteristics and the precision of the selection of the execution server can be increased.
