PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyamide resin composition which inhibits increase in yellowness even when it undergoes a long time or repeated thermal history and is excellent in mechanical properties such as toughness, and to provide a production method thereof. SOLUTION: In the method for producing a polyamide resin composition, a metal compound aqueous solution comprising a metal compound of the formula: A<SB>X</SB>B<SB>Y</SB>O<SB>2</SB>(wherein, A is a group 1 metal element of the periodic table or is one selected from among Cu, Ag and Pt; B is one selected from among Al, Fe, Te, Ti, Sc, In, Y, Ni, Co, Cr, Mn, Ga and Rh; and X and Y satisfy the relations: 0<X<4 and 0<Y<2, respectively) and a polyhydric alcohol is compounded with at least one of a polyamide raw material and a polyamide molten material. Here, the metal compound aqueous solution has concentration of the metal compound of 0.01-10 mass% and a content of the polyhydric alcohol of 10-10,000 pts.mass relative to 100 pts.mass the metal compound.
