PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily determining the deterioration of the lifetime of a lead acid battery without any temperature correction of internal impedance. SOLUTION: In the deterioration diagnosis method of a lead acid battery, the internal impedance and temperature of the lead acid battery are measured for a certain period, a judgment index L2 is calculated by the following calculation expression, and time when the value becomes at least two times larger than an initial judgment index L1 is determined as a deterioration lifetime. In the deterioration diagnosis method, the calculation expression of the judgment index L is (Z1-Z2)/((T1-T2)×Z2), where Z1 and Z2 are the maximum and minimum values, respectively, of the internal impedance measured for a certain period, and T1 and T2 are the maximum and minimum temperatures, respectively, for the certain period.
