PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the change in the flow of a pickling liquid in a pickling tank caused by the change in the threading speed of a steel strip in jet type pickling equipment. SOLUTION: In the jet flow type pickling equipment where a steel strip 1 is horizontally threaded in a state where tensile is applied between linger rolls 3, 3 lying at the inlet side and outlet side of a pickling tank 2, and is dipped into a pickling liquid in the pickling tank 2, the vicinities of exhaust ports 6a, 6b for the pickling liquid lying at the inlet side and outlet side of the pickling tank 2 are provided with an inlet side weir 5a and an outlet side weir 5b, respectively. Further, the height of the inlet side weir 5a and the outlet side weir 5b is made regulatable, and, even if the threading speed of the steel strip 2 is changed by the regulation in the height of the inlet side weir 5a and the outlet side weir 5b, the ratio between the amount of the pickling liquid exhausted to the exhaust port 6a of the pickling liquid at the inlet side over the inlet side weir 5a and the amount of the pickling liquid exhausted to the exhaust port 6b for the pickling liquid at the outlet side over the outlet side weir 5b is made constant.
