PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing bisphenol A, in which a horizontal belt filter having a filter cloth mounted thereon, having a long life and capable of exhibiting a stable filtration performance is used for the solid-liquid separation of a slurry comprising bisphenol A-phenol adduct. SOLUTION: This method for producing the bisphenol A is characterized by using a filter cloth woven from yarns having a uniform yarn diameter and having an air permeability of 50 to 100 ml/cm<SP>2</SP>in a horizontal belt filter for the solid-liquid separation of the slurry obtained by crystallizing the bisphenol A-phenol adduct from the phenol solution of the bisphenol A obtained by reacting phenol with acetone in the presence of an acid catalyst.
