PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a plastic lens which can easily obtain a plastic optical component having a curved surface difficult of thin film forming. SOLUTION: A cradle 10 having a recess 10A formed in the middle and a receiving part 12 with a tapered surface 12A formed is used. The middle of a plastic optical substrate 1 is made to face the recess 10A, and the peripheral edge part of the optical substrate 1 is mounted on the receiving part 12. In this state, the optical substrate 12 is heated at the glass transition temperature or above, the middle of the optical substrate 1 is protruded toward the recess 10A by its own weight, and the peripheral edge part of the substrate 1 is contacted with the tapered surface 12A of the receiving part 12 over a prescribed size to curve/fair the plastic optical substrate 1.
