PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data correction apparatus obtaining uniform data by correcting the spatially ununiform sensitivity distribution of a sensor with simple processing, while keeping the spacial uniformity of an SNR (signal to noise ratio) distribution, and to provide a data correcting method, a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, and an X-ray CT apparatus. SOLUTION: The data correction apparatus 1 includes a sensitivity correction means and an SNR distribution correcting means. The sensitivity correction means produces first processed data S<SB>scor</SB>by performing sensitivity correction S2 to first objective data S<SB>orig</SB>obtained based on correction objective data S<SB>orig</SB>using ununiform sensitivity distribution I<SB>sens</SB>of a sensor for acquiring the correction objective data S<SB>orig</SB>. The SNR distribution correcting means produces pieces of component data each subjected to corresponding weighting depending on an SNR distribution W<SB>snr</SB>and corresponding filtering S3 having mutually different intensity using second objective data S<SB>scor</SB>obtained based on the correction objective data S<SB>orig</SB>to produce second processed data S<SB>scor.nonuni.fil</SB>by compounding S4 the pieces of the component data.
