The coupling gear has two bearings (106,108) among which the former is connected with the front of the coupling gear and the latter bearing is connected with a cover. The former bearing is so arranged that it is led at a front cover of a transmission and the latter bearing is so arranged that it is led at a housing (102) of the transmission. The bearings center the coupling gear in reference to the longitudinal axis of the transmission. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing the coupling gear.
