PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress generation of unevenness in reading a manuscript fully effectively in a manuscript reading apparatus which feeds the manuscript by regulating one of the edges of the manuscript to a predetermined cross directional position irrespective of the cross directional dimension of the manuscript (3). SOLUTION: On the inclined plane of a manuscript feeding guide (10), a narrow partial guide plane (20) and non-guide planes (22) located at both sides in the cross direction of the partial guide plane are formed. The partial guide plane is higher than the non-guide planes, and is located in the cross direction leaning to the side of the predetermined cross directional position where the one edge of the manuscript is regulated.
