PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component for a vending machine that enables a cost reduction and a size reduction by changing methods of storing or rewriting programs for vending machines installed into service. SOLUTION: A deposited amount display device 15 as the component for the vending machine comprises: a control device 25 for controlling the operation of the vending machine which has a storage part 26 for storing a control program for the vending machine and transmission and reception parts 27 and 28 for transmitting and receiving the control program stored in the storage part 26; and a communication connector 23 connected to the transmission and reception parts 27 and 28 of the control device 25. The deposited amount display device 15 is configured to be connectable to another by a communication cable 31 via the communication connector 23. The control device 25 is configured to cause the transmission and reception parts 27 and 28 to execute control program transfer from one deposited amount display device 15 to the other deposited amount display device 15.
