PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel compound usable as an adhesive component effective for bonding an oxetane resin to a noble metal or a noble metal alloy essentially comprising the noble metal. SOLUTION: The novel thiouracil derivative of formula (1) (wherein R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each independently a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, provided that at least one of R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom; R<SP>3</SP>is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; R<SP>4</SP>is a 1-20C bivalent organic residue; and R<SP>5</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a 1-10C alkyl group) is used as the adhesive component in a finishing agent or an adhesive composition used for the noble metal or the noble metal alloy.
