PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for controlling the net towing state capable of keeping the shape of the opening part of a trawl net almost to a constant state even when the trawling condition varies and quickly and properly coping with the application of abnormal tension on a warp. SOLUTION: The control apparatus is provided with a trawl winch 3 to independently perform the delivery and winding of the right and left warps 5R, 5L of a trawl net 4, a warp sensor containing tension sensors 16R, 16L to detect the tension of the warps and rotation sensors 17R, 17L to detect the delivered length and delivering linear velocity of each warp, and a trawl winch controlling device 20 to control the towing state of the trawl net to a preset state in the automatic net-towing operation according to the operating state information of each warp detected by the warp sensor by commanding the delivery or winding of each warp in a manner to keep the tension of the right and left warps within an allowable range and to keep the lengths of the right and left warp and the difference of the lengths within prescribed ranges.
